About
Our annual campaign supports the programs of the YMCA and provides scholarships and subsidies so that no one is ever turned away because of the inability to pay.

To clarify, membership fees are used to support the staff and the operating budget while the capital campaign solely supports the cost of the new building.

The Park Cities YMCA was founded in 1944 and programs began out of a small house in Goar Park. The land for the current facility was donated by the Hoblitzelle Family on Preston Road in the late 1940’s and the Y opened its’ doors in 1951 to serve Highland Park and University Park.

Dr. Shirley Hodges, a local resident was the first Board Chair and began the sense of community that has grown to where it is today.

Park Cities YMCA provides a wide variety of programs for children, adults and seniors serving over 12,000 members in the Park Cities and beyond.
