Spring 2015 is one for the record books for the Park Cities YMCA

What a difference a couple months make!  Just last year Park Cities was under strict watering resctrictions in an effort to conserve water during the severe drought in North Texas.  Now it seems like we won't have to water anything for months! The sports program at the PCYMCA has been a casuality of the intense snow, rain and sleet this spring.  We have had more re-scheduled and cancelled games than ever before.  We work in conjuction with the local parks departments and the school district as they try to protect the fields so that the entire community can enjoy our treasured green spaces.  This spring there simply wasn't the time or field space to complete our soccer and flag football seasons.  We even had volleyball games cancelled due to the threat of severe weather!

We are moving forward with the baseball/softball and tball season and hope to have all 7 games played by the end of the school year, or shortly thereafter.  We are entering the final week of practice for the track meet as well.  There is still time to get in on the action, as Friday May 1 is the last day to register for the track meet without a late fee.  There is no better way to celebrate the warmer weather than spending the day around a track cheering for your kids!

Registration is available online at: www.pcymca.org or at our interim location at 6030 Luther Lane #180 in Preston Center.
