What I Wore on a Northern European Luxury Cruise

Tanya Foster wearing Boden look in Northern Europe

ICYMI... we just got back from out amazing 12-day trip through Northern Europe (Sweden, Norway, Germany and Denmark) with Regent Seven Seas Cruises. I previously shared what I wore in Northern Europe for an early summer cruise that we took with Regent in 2024, which is still a great reference for what to wear. However, today I’m sharing what I wore on my recent late summer/early fall cruise, which can look slightly different. These looks are not only great if you’re traveling to Northern Europe, but they’re also perfect for a fall wardrobe refresh. You will notice a lot of mixing and matching. This is key for packing for a longer cruise. Use this as a guide to pack efficiently and you'll get the most out of your wardrobe. And don’t worry, I’ll cover the full trip itinerary and all the details next week, so stay tuned!

Luxury Cruise Packing List for Northern Europe

Below I have it ordered from dressier dinner looks to more casual, daytime and travel looks. This covers all occasions you need to pack for. I recommend bringing layers. The weather was in the 60s-70s throughout the trip. This means some days you need a layer for the outdoors. Also, be sure and pack a light raincoat because there is always a chance it will rain in Northern Europe. Excursions will not get cancelled if it rains, so it's best to come prepared!

Dinner Looks

Let's start with a gorgeous dinner look. On Regent Seven Seas, the dress code is no jeans after 6 PM, so you need to pack dresses and/or dress pants to wear each evening. This black midi dress (size S) was perfect. I love the mixed media style and flattering fit. It's a dress you can wear more than once by switching out accessories or adding a layer. I even wore it during the day with a denim jacket and sneakers.

Another perfect daytime to dinner piece is this cafe striped shirtdress (size S). It's made out of a lightweight linen, perfect for early fall temperatures and exploring outside or dining inside.

This shirtdress (sized up to a 6)- it has a snug fit) was a great little find on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It is currently 50% off and the perfect daytime or dinner look! Take it into fall with brown tights and tall riding boots. So chic!

This may be one of my favorite sets! This zebra halter top and pants set (size S) is so chic. You can wear it together or as separates. Perfect for a cruise night dinner or cocktail event.

Daytime Looks

The piece I probably wore the most on this trip was this black cashmere cardigan (size S)! It is definitely a wardrobe staple and at a price that you can't beat. Start by pairing it over paired it over a white crewneck tee or a black tee. For a more casual look I wore these cropped khakis (size 4) or these denim jeans (size 27) and sneakers. For a dinner look I paired it with these ponte pants (fit S) in chocolate and Chanel ballet flats. I love a black and chocolate brown combo for fall.

You may recognize this look from Friday's post about new fall trends. I got a lot of wear from this argyle cardigan (size S). I paired them with both these cropped khakis (size 4) and these wide leg pants (fit TTS) with sneakers for a day out exploring!

A great look for exploring, this colorblock cardigan (size S) and these wide leg pants (fit TTS) were the perfect blend of style and comfort. As you can see, I packed plenty of cardigans for this trip. Having lightweight layers is key for the mid-60s temperatures. If it does happen to warm-up then you can tie it around your shoulders for an equally as chic look.

This cashmere hoodie and pants set (size S) is perfect for either a day at sea or exploring. I wore it with these sneakers and a jacket for a daytime excursion and it kept me warm and dry!

Last week I talked about the Frenchie collection because, as you can see, it's the best for traveling! I got so much wear out of just mixing and matching a few simple pieces. Above you'll find the dolman top, wide leg pants, joggers, and the quarter zip sweatshirt (all size S and in color Bone). Wear it as a monochromatic set or layer it on cooler days. It gave me endless possibilities.

I finally found the best look for a day at sea! This crochet crewneck and shorts set (size S) is so comfortable but gives you that put-together look. Just add sneakers. It can also double as a swimsuit cover-up or you can pair the top with jeans for an everyday look. You may remember me wearing it on our trip to New Orleans this summer.

Travel Looks

  Tanya Foster wearing Spanx jumpsuit

I have found my new SPANX obsession ... meet the SPANX jumpsuit (size S). It has a hidden opening in the back so you can use the restroom without taking the whole set off. Genius! It was the perfect piece for traveling. I wore it with sneakers and this NY hat, which I got a lot of use from on rainy excursion days. It also comes in black.

The Frenchie collection also works for travel days! This dolman top and these wide leg pants was so comfortable for the long flight home. It's so soft is truly can double as pajamas!
