Something everyone should have in their closet – a chic trench coat and a good umbrella. Because you know how this time of year plays out. April showers bring May flowers. Let’s explore this chic trench coat look.

I focused on the outfit underneath this drape trench coat in this blog post about Everlane. But today I want to focus on why you need a good trench coat and umbrella in your wardrobe. We all know the saying about Texas weather. If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. Typically, it doesn’t rain all day long here. It also doesn’t rain for days and days like it might in England or other lush, green European countries. But when it does, it pours! Am I right?

Having a lightweight, drape trench coat such as this one that I have on (it comes in 3 colors) will be a smart investment you won’t regret. The all-weather material will keep you dry without adding too much bulk or warmth. It’s so lightweight and fits perfectly. I’m wearing a size medium for size reference. And a good, sturdy umbrella is an absolute must. If the weather looks iffy when I head out, I take mine with me and keep it in my car. I have owned my Burberry umbrella for years and again, it’s a great investment. I’m linking you to several choices below.

Try to stay dry today (and chic)! xoxo – Tanya
