How to style a midi skirt

Eliza J midi skirt c/o (on SALE!) / White shirt / Pumps (on SALE!) / Necklace (long version here) / Cuff bracelet / Sunglasses / Bag (not pictured) /  Lips: Tom Ford in Cherry Lush

This is funny! Over the weekend I ran into someone who follows the blog and they said to me “You are dressed just like you would be on the blog”. Why yes I am. That’s because I shoot my every day looks for the blog as well as wear my clothes. So it makes sense that if you run into me, I probably am wearing something you have seen before. One of those looks is the midi skirt.

I absolutely love a good midi skirt. Typically, I pair it with a simple white button down shirt and let the shoes be the pop of color. It’s a clean, crisp look that has a classic style. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t have enough white shirts in your wardrobe. Patti Flowers and I discuss this every time I see her. I just saw her last night and people are still talking about this blog post. It was a pretty good post if I don’t say so myself.

Here is one thing to keep in mind when styling a midi skirt. Don’t let the skirt overwhelm you. I am 5’8″ and love a hemline below the knee but if you get a skirt with too much volume it will wear you. Also, I suggest tucking in your shirt or sweater for a cleaner line. I think I was meant to live in the 1950’s.

What era were you meant to live in (fashion wise)?   xoxo – Tanya

P.S. Be sure to check out these other Eliza J looks in this blog post and this one too.
