Imagine a world where you get to experience a new destination but you don’t do a thing to make it happen. Today I’m introducing you to LuxeBae, a luxury travel experience company that brings together unique vacation amenities with their portfolio of exclusive, private luxe villas. Come with me as we explore Costa Rica with LuxeBae.

I’m the planner of our family. Throughout the years of family vacations or couples trips, I’m the one that does all the leg work. This usually includes destination selection, culling through endless vacation rental properties or hotels and finding one that fits our needs, booking airfare, planning excursions, researching places to eat and booking all restaurant reservations and making sure there is plenty to do for everyone on the trip. By the time we depart and go on vacation, I need another vacation. Does anyone else feel like that?

Pete and I have never been to Costa Rica. I wouldn’t even know where to start to plan a vacation there. All I knew about it was that there are rain forests, beaches and volcanoes. But when I met Christine Saba and Alison Zook from LuxeBae at a Dallas blogger event they hosted, I knew they were on to something magnificent. We instantly hit it off! When they offered to plan one of their luxury experiences for us, it was met with an immediate YES!

LuxeBae’s hospitality is represented through their motto – Luxury before any thing else! When you book one of their luxury villas they plan your vacation, take care of all details, bookings for activities and excursions and provide private, luxury extras to make your entire trip unforgettable. They have a portfolio of over 30 luxury vacation rental properties in Costa Rica and Anguilla (British West Indies), create custom experiences for guests, include pre-arrival planning and coordination services, 24/7 on site concierge and have their finger on the pulse of the town you are vacationing in. Amenities include: On site spa services, private chef, private driving services, yoga sessions, pre arrival grocery shopping to stock your villa refrigerator with your favorites, daily maid services, butler/cocktail services, child care, unique/custom excursions – Ex: Yacht to Private Beach with Gourmet Picnic and custom on site event planning.

Since we were new to Costa Rica, we let LuxeBae hand pick our luxury villa and went with all their suggestions. Casa De Los Suenos was absolutely perfect for us! It’s located in the neighborhood of Hermosa Heights, Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste, Costa Rica which is only a short 30 minute drive from Liberia International Airport and 5 minutes from the beach. It has 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms and sleeps a total of 6 people. The star attraction is the double edge infinity pool overlooking the ocean. STUNNING views! You can see more pictures and take a virtual tour by clicking here. Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste is the Gold Coast of Costa Rica. It is beautiful yet still untouched by commercialism.

We were picked up at the Liberia airport by our driver and Alison from LuxeBae met us at Casa De Los Suenos. She welcomed us with champagne and gave us a quick tour. Since we had discussed all of our needs prior to departure, Alison had all of our dinner reservations made, booked our excursion to Rio Perdido (more on that in a separate post) and arranged our in-villa couples massage. I gave her my grocery list a week before departure so we arrived with everything in the refrigerator. She had shopped for coffee and fruit but not just at any ole’ grocery store. She went to her favorite fruit market to pull the freshest fruits that Costa Rica had to offer and bought us Costa Rican coffee. What a delicious way to start our morning every day. The rest of our trip went exactly according to plan. The best part? I didn’t do one thing to plan this vacation – LuxeBae did all the work!

I am detailing our adventure below to give you insight to our time in Costa Rica. It’s perfect for an extended stay or even a 5-7 day vacation. Consider taking the family for Thanksgiving, over the holiday break, spring break or just to get away with your significant other. Planning a vacation for your entire family or several families? This is the perfect way to go and rent several villas or one with many bedrooms. Their villa sizes range up to 7 bedrooms in Costa Rica which would accommodate large family gatherings. Rock star vacation anyone?

Travel: We took Southwest Airlines from Dallas Lovefield – Liberia, Costa Rica with a stop in Houston. You do change planes in Houston but it is super easy and the fare was only $400 per person. There are several carriers that go to the Liberia, Costa Rica airport. We had a private driver throughout our stay that was basically an ambassador for Costa Rica because he was so knowledgable about his country. Did you know that Christopher Columbus discovered Costa Rica in 1502 and named it because of all the gold he saw? Costa Rica literally means “rich coast”.

Stay: Rent one of the beautiful, private villas with LuxeBae. We were in Casa De Los Suenos and it was absolutely perfect for us! We had a master bedroom, huge master bath and closet, living room, kitchen, double edge infinity pool and outdoor entertaining area with a sun deck on the first floor. There were two more bedrooms upstairs (one of them is another master bedroom) but there was no need for us to leave the first floor.

Eat: We had coffee and breakfast in our villa each morning. LuxeBae stocked our villa with our requests. Lunch was spent on the go or at a casual location. Each dinner was carefully planned and booked by LuxeBae. Alison even told us the dress code for each restaurant (Costa Rica is fairly casual). I could tell that she carefully selected the order in which she booked these as well because our last dinner was in a cute little beach front, open air restaurant and she made the reservation so that we could see the spectacular sunset on the beach! We enjoyed: El Mangroove, Ginger and Casita Del Moriscos where we had the most delicious, fresh seafood and watched the spectacular sunset.

Do: There are so many things to do and wonderful excursions to choose from. We decided that since it was Costa Rica, we should go zip lining . LuxeBae planned a day trip for us at Rio Perdido. We went zip lining, enjoyed the hot, thermal baths, saw howler monkeys and enjoyed the nature walks. There is so much to talk about for this excursion that I will do a separate blog post about it. You could also enjoy Salve Terra or Borinquen if you want to do more excursions. You can even take more time and head to one of the many volcanoes.

Relax: LuxeBae booked a couples massage for us at our villa. We enjoyed this outside while listening to the pool fountain. There’s something about the fresh air and gentle breeze that makes a massage even more luxurious.

Pack: Casual clothes, swimsuit, coverup, tennis shoes or hiking boots, workout clothes or something comfortable (zip lining), beach dress, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, flip-flops. Linking you to everything I had with me below.

Would we do it this way again? Absolutely! In fact, we were just discussing that perhaps this is how we should explore Anguilla next. Oh and there’s rumor that LuxeBae might expand their services. Where should they go next?
