You'll gain a forever loving family member, and your new pet will have a home to call their own. Another pet will be able to take their place, saving even more lives! Adoption hours at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas and the Russell H. Perry Animal Care Center in McKinney are noon to 6 p.m on Sundays through Wednesday and noon to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

WHY: Pit Bull-type dogs are often not adopted due to strict breed or weight restrictions at many residential properties, never giving them the chance to show their loving, wonderful personalities to potential families. Pit Bulls are also overlooked in shelters due to unfortunate and inaccurate breed stereotyping.
