The American Airlines Center Hosts "Paws in the Plaza" Benefitting the SPCA of Texas!

A Pet-Friendly Event to be Held in Victory Plaza

WHAT: The American Airlines Center is hosting “Paws in the Plaza” benefitting the SPCA of Texas on Tuesday, June 20th, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This first time event is to help homeless pets find loving families, collect leash and collar donations for the SPCA of Texas' Community Pet Program, and raise funds for the SPCA of Texas.

The goal is to collect 35,000 leashes and collars for the SPCA of Texas' Community Pet Program which provides another layer of support to the people and their pets of Southern Dallas, helping keep pets in homes, off the streets and out of shelters. Chewy.com has kicked off this donation drive by generously contributing 400 leashes and collars.

Spend the afternoon with your furry friends enjoying pet-friendly activities, vendors, food trucks, $25 on-site pet adoptions, amazing raffles prizes and more! For each leash or collar donated, you will receive a complementary raffle ticket. Also, come by and meet Dustin Kross from The New Hot 93.3 who will be broadcasting live from the Victory Plaza studios.

The SPCA of Texas is celebrating 100 days of summer with $25 dog and cat adoptions through September 3rd.  Dogs and cats six months and older and puppies and kittens under six months will be only $25 as compared to the regular adoption fees of $50 up to $250. The $25 adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older and an FIV/FeLV test for cats four months and older. Also included initial flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative, a microchip, 30 days of free PetHealth Insurance provided by PetPlan, a free 14-day wellness exam with VCA Animal Hospitals, a free year-long subscription to Activ4Pets, a rabies tag and a free leash.
