The SPCA of Texas is thrilled to present Fur Ball 2016, “Shedding Light on Their Future,” to be held on Saturday, September 24 from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at the Omni Dallas Hotel. The elegant, black-tie gala will include dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions for over 1,000 guests. This year’s Fur Ball is raising the bar with headline entertainment by Limelight, a party, variety and dance band that features top flight singers and musicians from around the country.

Karen Urie is the recipient of the 2016 Mary Spencer Humanitarian Award. This award, named for animal advocate extraordinaire Mary Spencer, honors individuals and organizations that have made a significant difference in the lives of animals in North Texas. It was Karen's volunteer effort in 2007 when she served on the Paws Cause event committee that first introduced her to the SPCA of Texas. Since then Karen has been actively involved with a myriad of SPCA of Texas activities and events and is currently a board member. Karen’s voice for animals speaks loud and clear, and the SPCA of Texas is indeed fortunate to have her support. Karen Urie is currently a real estate agent and internal marketing consultant with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate.
