Dillard’s Chili Casserole

This is easy and kids love it...

 

Dillard’s Chili Casserole

 

1 lb. ground turkey or hamburger
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Pam cooking spray
3 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
1 can Rotel diced tomatoes & green chilies
2 15-oz. cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 4.5 oz. can chopped green chilies
1 T chili powder
1-1/2 t cumin
2 T brown sugar
1 6-oz pkg. corn bread mix
1 15-oz. can cream style corn

Cook the first 3 ingredients in a large skillet coated with Pam over medium-high heat, stirring until meat is cooked.  Drain and return to skillet.  Stir in the next 7 ingredients, cover and cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.  Pour into a lightly greased baking dish.  Prepare cornbread batter according to package directions (calls for milk and an egg), and add creamed corn.  Pour over meat mixture.  Bake at 400 for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.  6 servings.
