Crisp Corn Cakes
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup flour (I remember going to the Jiffy specifically for self rising flour so crossing out the soda and salt)
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups sour milk (buttermilk)
Cook in bacon grease...
We grew up with the "Big Breakfast" which typically was bacon, eggs, corn cakes, toast, half a grapefruit, cantaloupe and broiled tomatoes with parmesan. It was a production!
