Julie Valk was one of the first people who influenced me to cook.  When I was a teenager, I would appear at their house around dinner time to play with their baby Mieke (She is now an adult!).  Julie made it look easy and to this day, I think she is still a great cook.  I have carried many of her recipes for years with me!



3 tablespoons       butter

1 cup                     sugar

1                            egg

½ cup                    sour cream

2 cups                    flour – all purpose

2 teaspoons           baking powder

1 teaspoon             baking soda

½ teaspoon           salt


3                             bananas

1 tablespoon          lemon juice

1 teaspoon             vanilla


Cream together butter,sugar,egg and sour cream.  Mix in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.


Mash bananas with the lemon juice and add to other stuff.  Put in vanilla….Mix all well and pour into greased loaf pan


Cook at 375 for 35-40 minutes.
