Mama’s Corn Bread Recipe

This original recipe is from my grandmother Mimi.  

  • ½ c flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

 Sift above, then add

  • 1 cup milk (see note below)
  • 2 tablespoons Wesson Oil

Adjust the milk because you want the batter to look a little soupy.

Pour in greased pan and cook at 400 until brown.


  • sub out milk with apple juice or soy milk to make it dairy free for Robert
  • switch out Wesson Oil with olive oil
  • grease pan with olive oil
