Providence Grandparents' Day Al Cariker, Diane Cariker, Jaime Ferem, Derek Ferem, William Ferem, Jack Ferem

Providence Christian School of Texas held Grandparents’ Day on November 20 at Park Cities Baptist Church.  Students recited Scripture, poems, excerpts from Shakespeare, and historic pieces such as Travis’ letter and parts of the Declaration of Independence.  Students also sang special songs and hymns, and the Handbell Choir performed. These performances were carefully chosen to build student confidence for public speaking, while at the same time, filling their hearts and minds with works that have withstood the test of time.

After the service, students showed their grandparents the Fall Projects, which included cooking, sewing, painting, gardening, building projects, and more. These projects showcased the students’ creativity and imagination.

In his closing comments, Providence Headmaster Dr. Tony Jeffrey reminded everyone, “Grandparents’ Day is an important tradition for Providence as many grandparents are spiritual and moral examples for their grandchildren. This program helps us honor them with what they have been learning.”

Special thanks to Barbara Leeman for directing the music, David Leeman for the piano accompaniment, and John Hendricks for leading the Honors and Handbell Choirs.
