2013 TAPPS Six-Man Div. I State Champions - The Covenant Knights

The Knights defeated the Boerne Geneva Eagles last Saturday afternoon in the TAPPS Six-Man Division I State Final with a score of 60-12. This is the second consecutive state championship for the Knights and their sixth appearance at the state game. Head Coach Brice Helton said, “I couldn’t be more proud of this year’s team and all of the hard work that it took to win a second state title. This group of seniors has set a great example for our underclassmen, and we hope to continue to build a strong program on and off the field.”

Saturday’s game was a solid win for the Knights with senior Clark Martin scoring seven touchdowns and rushing for more than 270 yards. Senior Colby Boozer rushed for 141 yards and had two touchdowns for the Knights.

Senior and team captain Clark Martin said, "Winning state two years really is a testament to the group of guys we have and the system that Coach Helton has set up. Winning was great, but by far the best part of these past two and really thirteen years has been the amazing relationships I’ve developed thanks to this school and its athletics program. Winning state is just one of the many amazing experiences that Covenant has given me."
