The University Park Preschool Association (UPPA) kicked off its eleventh Annual Spring Market with an evening hosted by Tootsies in Preston Center on Thursday, March 3. The Spring Market, hosted by Wells Fargo, is set for April 6, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at University Park Elementary School.

At the kick-off celebration sponsored by The Little Gym, more than 150 guests were treated to hors d’oeuvres from Food, Glorious Food, along with specialty sips from the Boyer and Sartain families, before they turned their attention to the evening’s fashion show.  The runway show was produced by Rhonda Sargent Chambers of RSC Show Productions, LLC and Courtney Edwards of Francisco and Company.  Music was provided by Astounding Sounds Entertainment.

As guests entered Tootsies, beautiful cars from Park Place Volvo were on display and Southern Botanical provided gorgeous topiaries that flanked the entrance.

Rhonda Sargent Chambers, of RSC Show Productions, led the crowd through a runway show that included 39 gorgeous outfits featured in five fashion scenes titled “Mom is Chillin’”, “Ladies Who Lunch”, “Date Night”, and the final scene featured six designs by guest designer, Donna Degnan.  Models make up was created by Bobbi Brown of Nordstrom

“It was an amazing party and the perfect way to "Kick-off" the upcoming Spring Market! The fashion show was fabulous. It was just like being at a New York runway show with our own UPPA moms walking the catwalk.  The models, the guests and our sponsors all had a wonderful night “, explained Renne Lokey, event co-chair.

In addition to hosting the event, Tootsies offered three gift cards and a beautiful Elaine Turner handbag for raffle.  Little Gym gave away a free semester of classes, Southern Botanical gave away a lovely orchid bowl and Bobbi Brown gave away two make up baskets.  Tootsies also threw in a 15-percent discount that evening to entice the crowd to spruce up their spring wardrobe.

Beautiful gift bags that donned the Host Sponsor, The Little Gym’s logo, were given to each guest as a thank you and final reminder of the upcoming Spring Market. Gift bag goodies were provided by The Container Store, Kiehl’s in Highland Park Village and Bobbi Brown.
