Charter Business has increased its “Essentials30” and “Pro50” Internet download speeds to 60 Mbps and 80 Mbps respectively without an increase in price. By doubling the “Essentials30” Internet downstream offering and increasing the “Pro50” speeds by 60 percent, Charter Business will provide unmatched bandwidth options throughout North Texas.

“Businesses today are doing more with their Internet services than ever before, and we are providing our business customers unmatched value with the fastest speeds and the most robust suites of products and services available in our markets,” said Don Detampel, president of Charter Business.  “These speed increases are being launched at no additional cost, giving our business customers more productivity at the same price as their current speed tier.”

Over the past several years, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of individuals and devices accessing commercial networks. From increasing employee numbers to an increase in the number of smartphones and tablets accessing “hot spots” in business lobbies, the demand for bandwidth has never been greater. Charter Business has continually taken steps to stay ahead of this demand.

In addition to the download speed increases, Charter Business will also be increasing the upstream speed in its “Pro100” package from 5 Mbps to 7 Mbps – also at no extra cost. These speeds are now available to new customers, and will take place automatically for existing customers in the packages being impacted.

Since 2010, Charter Business has increased its entry level “flagship” commercial Internet offering five times: to 7 Mbps in 2010, to 8 Mbps in 2011, to 16 Mbps again in 2011, to 30 Mbps in 2013, and now to 60 Mbps. Charter Business also began offering 100 Mbps in 2011.
