Eliza Griswold Headlines First Distinguished Lecture Next Week.

Eliza Griswold, journalist and author, has explored the “clash of cultures” between Muslims and Christians by traveling “through the torrid zone to see, smell, taste, and write about it.”  She brings her story to Saint Michael and All Angels next Sunday, October 2nd, as the first in this season’s Distinguished Lecture Series.

Ms. Griswold will speak at the Rector’s Forum in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. and will address a reservations-only luncheon in the Coke Activities Room at 12:15 p.m.  The cost of the luncheon is $15 per person. Make reservations through the Adult Formation offices, 214-363-5422.

The New York Times says her book, The Tenth Parallel, is “full of arresting stories woven around a provocative issue — whether fundamentalism leads to violence…”  The Washington Post said, “she recounts the excesses of fundamentalism on both sides.”

Ms. Griswold’s book, The Tenth Parallel, is available in the Saint Michael Bookshop.
