Gail Holt, Hyer's science teacher, uses her furry and not so furry friends to help teach her classroom lessons.  Here, in these photos, Mrs. Holt is teaching the kids about animal classification.  Mrs. Holt believes this hands on approach helps keep the children's attention and enhances their retention.  The science lab is home to many wonderful creatures; a blue skink, a baby squirrel, a chinchilla, a bunny, several chickens, a snake, a turtle, fish and even a tarantula.
