A stretch of medians are getting renovated today along University Boulevard in University Park, which may cause some traffic congestion in the area.

The medians along the 3800-4000 blocks of University Blvd. will be landscaped, and street lights in the area will be upgraded in an effort to provide a more lit and well-maintained entrance corridor to City Hall.

The improvements will include the removal of several crape myrtles that have gotten entangled with the oaks in the area.

The project is expected to take three to four days to complete and may cause congestion problems on both the east and west-bound sides of the road, but renovation crews will not begin work until 9 a.m. each morning to avoid impeding school traffic.
