Even if you missed the Fifth Annual Snider Plaza Holiday Tree Lighting Festival last weekend, it is not too late to enjoy other Park Cities community events to get the holiday season started off right.

Check out these family-friendly holiday events in Highland Park that will be going on within the next two weeks:

Highland Park Village's Yuletide Celebration
Highland Park Village will be hosting it's annual yuletide celebration called "A Village Holiday" from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 25 at the shopping center. At the event, there will be dance performances, caroling, photos with Santa and the holiday lights will be turned on throughout Highland Park Village.

The "Big Pecan Tree" Lighting
Park Cities residents are invited to come out and enjoy the annual "Big Pecan Tree" lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the intersection of Armstrong Parkway and Preston Road. At the event, Highland Park's mayor William H. Seay, Jr. will be turning on the 5,000 lights that are decorating the tree, and the Highland Park High School Lads and Lassies will sing holiday carols. (If you don't know the history of the "Big Pecan Tree," check out the town of Highland Park website, which has background information about how the annual tree-lighting tradition got started.)
