Katy Trail Ice House and Aging Mind Foundation are teaming up for the second year to raise funds for brain research, in hopes of finding the cause for Alzheimer’s and other dementias. This casual to-do kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on November 7 with barbecue, music, beer, and cocktails at Katy Trail Ice House, 3127 Routh Street, Dallas.

 

“We are committed to finding the cause for Alzheimer’s and other dementias,” said Laree Hulshoff, co-founder of Aging Mind Foundation.  “This is Aging Mind Foundation’s second year to team up with Katy Trail Ice House for the Brews, Bites and Brain Research and each year the event gets larger.  We want to bring awareness to our city on the importance of finding the cause of the dementias.”

Voted best patio in Dallas by D Magazine, guests will enjoy the Katy Trial Austin style beer garden located in the heart of Uptown Dallas. The extraordinary menu includes aged Texas smoked BBQ, slow smoked daily to create the perfect platter of BBQ. To accompany the bites, guests will enjoy the fifty-foot long bar boasting fifty beers on tap, ranging from Texas Domestics to Regional and International imports.

Since the founding in 2013, the Aging Mind Foundation has raised more than $2 million to fund high-quality research. Alzheimer’s disease is the fifth leading cause of death for those 65 and older, and one of the most expensive diseases in the nation. There is currently no way to prevent, cure or even slow its progression.
