On Friday January 10th, it was a cloudy, misty and rainy day.  Members of the JL Long Middle school family gathered outside the school to do a scheduled balloon release in honor of Ms. Wilma King who passed away December 19th.  As faculty, administrative personnel, parents and students gathered around tears were flowing and stories were being shared of beloved Ms. King.   A scheduled 40 purple balloons were set to be released in honor of her 40 years with DISD. Purple was Ms. King’s favorite color and she had served as a vice principal at the school since 2010.  Ms. King will be remembered as principal who always a heart for every child she encountered and a warm smile every time you saw her.  RIP Ms. King.
