Central Westside announces new community programming

See what happens when a century-old, mainline church throws open its doors and reimagines how to connect with its neighborhood and community.

Central Westside is a 4 acre campus, with 32,000 square foot building that offers an innovative approach to work, play, wellness, art, education, and more.

Currently hosting space for several small businesses and non-profits including Connecting Point Park Cities, Grow North Texas, BeSpoken Art, RealHuman Media, Michael Kelley Films, Kevin Dang Good Massage, KiClarity, Hello Kitchari, FAITH Foods, and Living Yoga Dallas. The campus is home to musicians, chefs, artists, entrepreneurs, and individuals seeking safe space for meetings, events, work, and play space.

Under their Mission & Ministry program, along with Central Christian Church, several other groups enjoy indoor and outdoor worship, including The Gathering - A Womanist Congregation, The Berean Group, and Greenway Parks Westside. Central Westside hosts several 12 Step Groups in its many, spacious meeting and event rooms. Every 2nd Sunday, The Gathering meets to prepare over 100 meals to the homeless in and around downtown.

Central is also home to Children's Programs such as Art with Susan on Saturday mornings, SeedSchool Nature School Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm, and a MicroPod First Grade in the basement.

Out back is the Central Dog Park - a community of friends, neighbors, and furries who enjoy the shade of trees, doggie pools, and a dog washing station. They provide an outdoor worship service each 1st and 3rd Sunday at 9am with live music, song, and prayer. Annually they hold a Pet Blessing, which is scheduled during the 2020 Fall Festival and Music on the Lawn October 17th.

The Dallas Contemporary Conservatory kicked off its programming this year to highlight the acoustic excellence of the Parlor, Music Room, Grand Sanctuary and Little Chapel, allowing local musicians space to practice, rehearse, and record, as well as offer concerts for the community. Local contemporary artists hang their favorite pieces to adorn the walls of the building's beautiful mid-century modern architecture.

We invite you to campus to see the vibrant programs, services, fresh food, community, and fun the campus has to offer. Central Westside is a non-profit center that depends on donations from the community in order to maintain operations, and provide programming that supports the community.
