APRIL 9 

FAILURE TO LEAVE ID AT ACCIDENT 

At 12:58 PM, an officer was dispatched to the HPSV. The FLID had occurred in late March and the victim stated that between the hours of 9:30 AM and 6:45 PM on March 29, her vehicle had been damaged. A note was left, but no phone number or address was included.  


APRIL 10

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE 

An officer was dispatched to the 4500 block of Versailles Avenue for a reported BMV that occurred the night before. The victim stated that an unknown person had entered her vehicle and removed two pairs of sunglasses overnight. 

CRIMINAL TRESPASS IN HABITATION 

At 10:19 AM, an officer responded to the 3500 block of Lexington Avenue. The caller informed the police that an unknown white female had entered her home without permission and exited quickly, leaving in a vehicle. The officer took note of the incident and found that nothing had been damaged or was missing. 

FAILURE TO LEAVE ID AT ACCIDENT 

At 1:55 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 4500 block of Arcady Avenue after an accident. The victim had parked his vehicle at 6:00 PM on April 9, and when he returned to it the next day, he found considerable damage to the entire driver side of his vehicle that had not been there before. No form of identification had been left behind. 


APRIL 11 

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING

At 4:13 AM, an officer came to the Highland Park Shopping Village because an alarm went off. Upon arrival, the officer noticed broken glass on the rear door of the affected store. The door was unlocked and no persons were found inside. A pry bar appears to have been used. Video footage of the outside was obtained and the suspect was observable. 


APRIL 12 

DAMAGE TO PRIVATE PROPERTY 

At approximately 10:33 AM, an officer accidentally opened his car door and struck a nearby parked car, leaving minor damage.  

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE 

At 3:45 PM, an officer was dispatched to the north lot of the HPSV on a ladder that had been stolen. The victim stated that between 12:15 and 3:30, the ladder had been stolen off of his work truck's ladder rack. 


APRIL 13 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

A victim stated that her wallet and its contents had been stolen from her handbag while she was at a bar in the Highland Park Village. The restaurant's cameras had captured the likely suspect. 

ACCIDENT INVOLVING DAMAGE TO VEHICLE 

An officer responded to Mockingbird and Douglas to meet with a victim, who had been rear-ended at a red light. The other driver had fled after the accident. The victim did obtain pictures of the license plate number. 

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE 

An officer responded to a report of found property in the 3400 block of Dartmouth Avenue. The reporting person stated that he found two bags and an envelope on the street. The bags appeared to be toiletry bags and the envelope contained insurance information for a vehicle. When the officer made contact with the insured person, it was discovered that the resident's vehicle had been broken into and the items had been stolen.  


APRIL 14 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

An officer was dispatched to the 4400 block of Southern Avenue in response to a caller whose van was parked on the street. The front driver's side window had been broken. It didn't appear that anyone had attempted to enter the vehicle. Pictures were taken of the damage. 


APRIL 15 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 

At approximately 3:04 AM, two officers were patrolling in the 4500 block of Southern Avenue when they observed two vehicles with damaged driver side windows. They were able to determine the owner of one of the vehicles and contacted her. It appears that the window was shot with a pellet gun. 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 

An officer was dispatched to the 4300 block of Edmondson Avenue to speak with a caller who stated that at 10:00 AM, he went outside and saw a BB-sized hole in the driver side rear window of his vehicle. The suspect(s) left no evidence behind. 

THEFT OF PROPERTY 

At approximately 8:11 PM, an officer responded to the Highland Park lobby to take a report of a theft that occurred at Armstrong Elementary. The victim stated that his son is a student there and that his bike was stolen between April 13 and April 15. It had not been locked to a bike rack and had been removed by someone without permission.
