Drivers should plan for possible delays on I-635 this weekend because the road will be experiencing lane closures beginning Friday as the eastern portion of the Preston Road bridge gets demolished.
Beginning at 9 p.m. Nov. 16 through noon Nov. 17, I-635 heading eastbound will be reduced to one lane under Preston Road. Also, the I-635 eastbound Hillcrest Road exit ramp will be closed, as will the Preston Road bridge.
From noon to 7 p.m. on Nov. 17, two right lanes on the eastbound side of I-635 under Preston Road will be closed. The I-635 eastbound Hillcrest Road exit ramp and various lanes on the Preston Road bridge also will be closed.
At 7 p.m. Nov. 17 until noon Nov. 18, the I-635 westbound Montfort Drive exit ramp will be closed, as will the I-635 westbound Hillcrest Road entrance ramp and the Preston Road bridge.
Continuing at noon to 8 p.m. on Nov. 18, two right I-635 westbound lanes under Preston Road will be closed. In addition, the I-635 eastbound exit ramp to Hillcrest Road and various Preston Road Bridge lanes will be closed.
Then from 8 p.m. Nov. 18 to 6 a.m. Nov. 19, various I-635 lanes heading both eastbound and westbound under Preston Road will be closed.
