BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE
An officer responded to a reported BMV in the 4200 block of Potomac Avenue. The victim stated that his vehicle had been burglarized overnight while parked in the alley behind his residence. He found the doors and trunk open at 8:00 AM. The touch-screen stock radio had been taken.
THEFT OF PROPERTY
At approximately 5:15 PM, an officer was dispatched to the 4500 block of South Versailles. A vehicle had been reported stolen. The reporting person said that she shares ownership of the car with her daughter, who was out of town. The vehicle was last seen at 11:40 PM, parked in front of the residence. The keys are still in the reporting person's possession.
APRIL 5
DAMAGE TO TOWN PROPERTY
At approximately 12:41 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Armstrong Avenue. A truck failed to come to a complete stop at an intersection, so the police pulled the driver over. The suspect's cargo portion of the truck hit a Crape Myrtle tree belonging to the city and broke the branch off.
APRIL 8
PARKED IN HANDICAPPED ZONE
At 7:58 AM, an officer reported to the 3300 block of Mockingbird Lane and examined a vehicle that appeared to be damaged and abandoned. The tires were flat and the vehicle was parked in a handicap parking spot with no handicapped tag. The vehicle was towed.
FOUND PROPERTY
An officer was dispatched to the police station at 10:35 AM to file a found property report. The reporting person had turned in a blue Fit Bit watch that she found in the 3600 block of Dartmouth Avenue.
