Congratulations to the Highland Park High School Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman cheerleading squads. These squads participated in the National Cheerleaders Association Summer Camp in Rockwall on August 1-4. The Camp ended with a competition in which the Varsity squad earned all superior ribbons and a Spirit Stick and was honored with Top Cheer in their division; the Junior Varsity squad went home with two superior ribbons, an excellence ribbon, a Crowd Involvement Award, and a Spirit Stick; and the Freshman squad were honored with Top Cheer, a Stunt Safe award, all superior blue ribbons, and a Spirit Stick. Twenty Highland Park High School cheerleaders were also awarded a spot on the National Cheer Association (NCA) All-American team.

Throughout camp, the NCA staff nominated campers for NCA All-American in categories for leadership, dance, motions, jumps, stunts, and tumbling. If an athlete exemplified superior skills in one of the categories, they had the opportunity to try out for the team. Go Scots!
