October 8, 2012 (Dallas) – At midnight on Tuesday, October 16, registration fees for the 2012 MetroPCS Dallas Marathon and Half Marathon will increase from $115 to $130 and $100 to $110, respectively. The races are Sunday, December 9.

“Training groups have hit their strides, and people are feeling confident about running a half or full in two months,” said Marcus Grunewald, executive director of the Dallas Marathon. “We’ve seen a great surge of registrants in the past weeks and expect registrations to increase even more up to the time that our caps are met.”

October 16 is the final price increase for the Dallas Marathon (formerly the Dallas White Rock Marathon) before the close of online registration on Monday, December 3. Space permitting, in-person registration will be available at the Dallas Convention Center during the Dallas Marathon’s two-day Health and Fitness Expo December 7-8.

The participant field at the 43rd Dallas Marathon is capped at 25,000, with 6,000 marathon runners, 13,000 half-marathon runners and 6,000 spots for participants in the five-person relay divisions.
