We've reached that month where multiple holidays fall into a weird shared space. Halloween has just ended, Thanksgiving is approaching, and Christmas is... coming? Here? It's unclear, but the stores certainly have pulled out all of their holiday cheer.

Whether you're ready for the full force of the holiday season or not, there are a handful of events in the Dallas area that you won't want to miss this month. Which ones are you going to check out?

Take Part in the Dallas Bike Ride - Nov. 4 

This 20-mile dash to the finish is just around the corner. Participants will bike across Dallas in this epic race, which is being held for the first time ever. The creators hope to unite the community in this no-cars race while showing off all that Dallas has to offer. Online registration is now closed, but there are late registration details available on the event's website. Even if you don't plan to join in the race, you can help support those who are and enjoy the entertainment and refreshments. 

Celebrate at the Otsukimi Moon Viewing Festival at Klyde Warren Park - Nov. 4 

Don't miss this wonderful display of Japanese music, dance, art, and culture. There will be a variety of fun activities, from origami to beautiful calligraphy, as well as performances by musicians and dancers. The free event celebrates the full autumn moon and is an excellent way to learn about Japanese traditions. Stop by from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM to participate! 

Visit the 12 Days of Christmas Displays at the Dallas Arboretum - Opens Nov. 8 

I know, I know, it's only early November, but it's already time to start making some of your holiday plans. The Arboretum will begin its nighttime light showings soon, so purchase your tickets in advance. Plus, there are seasonal sweets, savory foods, hot beverages, holiday music, and more. For many, attending this extravagant display is a bit of a holiday tradition, and the Arboretum is now open for the event on more weekends than ever. 

Soak Up Some State History at The Edge of Texas - Nov. 10 and 11 

For two days, Dallas will be home to an impressive showcase of everything Texas has to offer. There will be cocktails, food, music, and most importantly, lots of information on Texas and its incredible history. You'll learn about everything from Lone Star State's historical beginnings to the leaders who now guide our iconic state. Make sure to check out the schedule online before you go. 

Wander Around the Brilliantly Lit Dallas Zoo - Starting Nov. 17 

At this inaugural holiday celebration, the Dallas Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland with almost one million beautiful lights. The event will continue into January, but it's pretty popular, so plan your trip accordingly. There will be delicious treats, including s'mores and spiked hot chocolate for adult guests. The best part? The event is free with your zoo admission, so you can spend the entire day checking out animals and stay for the twinkling celebration at night. 

Take Your Little Ones to the NorthPark Train Exhibit - Starting Nov. 18 

For thirty years, NorthPark has hosted a train exhibit that benefits Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. More than 750 railcars zoom across huge configurations of tracks and elaborately crafted scenes, and every year, more than 70,000 people travel to witness the event. Over the years, the trains have helped raise more than $13 million dollars for severely ill children and their families. Bring your kids and spend a little while exploring this Dallas tradition.  

Meet Olympic and Paralympic Athletes at the Team USA Winterfest - Nov. 18 

Presented by Hershey's, this festival will bring the energy and excitement of the Olympics right to Dallas! The event is a part of a nation-wide tour and will feature athlete meet-and-greets and interactive experiences. You can also enjoy a free concert by Amy Jack and The Remington Band. Stop by Klyde Warren Park to enjoy this free event from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To see a list of athletes who will be present, check out the event's website. 

Dine at the Delicious Texas Chili Festival - Nov. 19 

This year, the Granada Theater will host the festival's second occurrence. More than ten DFW restaurants will be present, as well as some Texas bands and local vendors. The entire family can stop by for games, activities, and of course, chili. After all, what says fall more than a hearty bowl of chili? Bring your appetite and your excitement to this fun November fest. 

Join in the Annual Turkey Trot - Thanksgiving Day

Chances are, you've heard of the trot, but you've never actually gotten involved. Well, maybe this is your year to finally jump in! Participating can be as simple as donating if you're not one to get out there and run on Turkey Day. If you do want to stretch your legs, you can sign up for the 5k Run/Walk or the 8 Mile Run. The event also requires many volunteers, so there's some way for everyone to contribute. Register for the event online. 

Attend the Jingle Ball Concert at the American Airlines Center - Nov. 28 

Tickets for this holiday performance are already on sale, and they're going fast. Huge performers like The Chainsmokers, Charlie Puth, Kesha, Niall Horan, and more will grace the stage for a seasonal concert unlike any other.
