Park Cities YMSL's "Ultimate Gift" weekend at Jubilee

On the weekend of October 21-22 the 249 members of the Park Cities chapter of the Young Men's Service League converged on Jubilee Park and Community Center to give back to the community during their "Ultimate Gift" weekend.  Mothers and sons worked side by side redoing the gardens of Jubilee and OM Roberts Elementary School as well as painting picnic tables, stepping stones, and benches working over 440 hours.  Jubilee is located in a "food desert" where access to healthy food is limited.  The gardens of Jubilee and OM Roberts will be used to grow and supply fresh herbs and produce.

Jubilee has strengthened the community and revitalized southeast Dallas.  In addition to redoing the gardens, YMSL helped link Jubilee and OM Roberts Elementary by creating a butterfly path between the two sites.  Lowes generously donated supplies and tools to help with "Ultimate Gift".  YMSL is a nonprofit organization that initiates and encourages young men and their mothers to pursue philanthropic involvement in their community as a means of enhancing mother/son relationships.
