Ability Connection, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in Dallas, Fort Worth, Richardson, Garland, and Southlake, has assembled its wish list of goods and services needed this holiday season. Ability Connection graciously accepts gift in many forms – from gifts of time to various forms of monetary gifting, gifts of supplies, gifts for facility needs and gifts for activity-based needs. Provide Gifts to Members Living in Ability Connection Group and Foster Homes
Make a difference and brighten the holidays of the members from Ability Connection group and foster homes. Donate a gift that can be tucked under the tree or in the members’ stockings by visiting Ability Connection’s Amazon Wish List, which includes everything from games to stimulate the mind to clothing to daily items to help members’ routines. Join ACT Connections with Friends and Create your Own Holiday Fundraiser
The holiday season is a perfect time to create your own FUNdraiser, where proceeds benefit Ability Connection. Host a neighborhood bake sale, a Christmas cookie decorating party or a gourmet dinner. Create a cookbook of your and your neighborhood’s holiday recipes and sale the cookbook. Let your imagination soar. The possibilities are endless.
Donate books, movies and sensory board games
Each week, Ability Connection offers programming to its members, designed to address the individual’s choices and priorities. Consider donating books, movie DVDs and sensory board games. Part of the programming includes Reading Corner, where members can practice and strengthen their reading comprehension skills and monitor their progress. Sensory Board Game Day offers members an environment full of different sensory activities in comfortable carefree, quiet zone with plenty of action. Items can be shipped directly to the attention of the Development at Ability Connection, 8802 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, Texas 75235 or dropped off at the same address on Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Help with remodeling of Ability Connection group homes
Are you handy with home remodeling? Do you work for a home improvement company? Ability Connection group homes are in need of sprucing up, including floor replacement, bathroom remodeling to make ADA compliant, front door replacement, and exterior fence replacement. Give the Gift of Time
There are two ways to give the gift of time – by becoming a Connection Ambassador or Connection Companion. By becoming a Connection Ambassador, you can share your time, talents, and energy year-round. It’s a perfect opportunity for individuals, corporations, churches, schools, and more to host a party for the members of Ability Connection or take part in a community service project. If you have a vocational skill that may be of interest and help the members, tell Ability Connection about it.
The other volunteering opportunity is to become an Ability Connection Companion, where volunteers are matched with one our members to establish an enriching one-on-one relationship. Companions help members combat social and physical isolation, as well as develop relationships with people within their community.

The mission of Ability Connection is to enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities through comprehensive, life changing care, training and supports.
