The HPHS Running Scots at Norbuck

Congratulations to the Running Scots as both the varsity and jv teams competed well at the Jesuit XC Classic at Norbuck Park on Friday.  The varsity team of Charlie Campbell, Hunter Hegi, Brett Jacot, Eric Lara, Joseph Linck, Ethan Moss, and Pierce Whiteman finished 6th overall in the 5A - 6A division.  Pierce Whiteman led the team with a time of 17:38 and the top 6 runners finished within 32 seconds of each other.

The Junior Varsity was led by Jack Payne who took first in the individual standings earning him this week's Golden Spike Award.  He led a group that turned in a season low score of 20 points.  He was followed closely by Kai Jejurikar who finished 2nd in the overall standings coming close to beating his personal best time as he earns top JV honors this week.  The team had nine runners finish in the top 20 earning medals and had 5 runners finish the day with personal best times.  The Running Scots compete for the District 11-5A championship on Thursday, October 17th at Myers Park in McKinney.  Go Scots!
