Memory Loss: Your Caregiver Journey Seminar | A Free Seminar for Caregivers

Monticello West, a senior living community in University Park, offering specialized memory care, invites families and caregivers of those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia to attend a free seminar on Tuesday, Oct. 8, beginning at 6 p.m.

The seminar will be led by Elizabeth Lonseth, author of A Gradual Disappearance, who will share her personal stories and practical advice, wisdom and grace for dealing with loved ones with memory loss.

Elizabeth Lonseth has written two non-fiction books on dementia. All four of her parents, her own and her in-laws, lived with memory disease. Her desire to help other families taking this same journey has led to speaking opportunities throughout the United States.

During this exclusive seminar offered in the DFW area, Elizabeth will share practical advice for the caregiving journey, including coping with changes, types of care and the importance of making time for yourself. Join other caregivers as we rally around each other in support.

Monticello West is proud to offer Heartfelt Connections – A Memory Care Program®, a person-centered, activity-focused philosophy and continuum of care that is grounded in the belief that the abilities that remain are far more important than what is lost.

With guidance from each resident’s unique life story, our staff is able to capture a lasting legacy of details about the resident using customized reminiscence tools, then apply the insights gained from each life story to individualized programming. This focus on each resident’s unique remaining abilities allows our memory support team to embrace those three Personal Life Requirements that are the spirit, heart and soul of our memory care program.

Space is limited for this free informational session, so please call 972-600-2779 to reserve your seat. Please register by Oct. 3.
