SCOTS LOSE ON THE ROAD TO ROYSE CITY 51-49
It was another difficult loss for the Men’s Varsity Basketball Team Friday night in Royse City. The Scots went toe to toe with the 15 5A District leaders all night. Neither team was able to go ahead by more than 4 points for the entire game. Will Enzor sank two free throws with 00:10 left in the game to tie the score at 49. Royse City moved the ball up court quickly and managed to draw a foul with just 00:02 left in the contest. After making both free throws the Scots had little time left to answer. A desperation 3 point attempt by Alex Staffaroni fell short at the buzzer for the final score of 51-49.
Will Enzor led the Scots with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Reilly Seebold added 8 points to go with 4 steals.
The Scots are now 18-11 on the season and 7-4 in district play.
The Highland Park Scots are back in action at home Tuesday night against Wylie East. JV tips off at 5:30 followed by crowning of the Basketball Queen at 6:30 and Varsity at 7:00. With only 3 games left in district play come out and support the Scots as they try to secure a spot in the post-season playoffs.
