Park Cities Residents living in and passing through the Bradfield Elementary area have been asking the same question: “What’s the deal with all the Lemonade stands???” The answer? For their One School, One Book selection this year, Bradfield Elementary families are reading The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. The book is about a brother and sister competing to raise the most money with their lemonade stands.

Bradfield’s OSOB committee decided to use the Lemonade War concept to start a friendly local competition between the Bradfield girls and boys. The local Lemonade War runs through Sunday, February 4, and all money raised will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer.

One School, One Book is a program started by Read to Them, a 501 C (3) non-profit organization promoting family literacy. Their programs encourage reading together at home.
