Highland Park blasted the Trojans of Carrollton Newman Smith 58-7, clinching the Division 10-4A championship in the process.
The Scots had 357 passing yards, with no interceptions — initiated by an 87-yard halfback pass for a TD from Hunter Feagans to Charles Hubbard on the first play from scrimmage. Starting quarterback Jet Tuma, who sat out the last quarter and a half, was 19 of 28 for 239 yards.
HP racked up 178 rushing yards on 32 carries, led by Rob Williams who carried the ball 9 times for 61 yards.
The Scots face Terrell Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Highlander Stadium for Senior Night.
