SCOTS DROP REGIONAL GAME TO ROYSE CITY 57-52
The Highland Park Men’s Varsity Basketball team dropped an important District 15 5A game at home Tuesday night to Royse City 57-52. The Scots could never recover from an awful 2nd quarter that saw the visitors outscore HP 22-4 to take a 14 point lead into the halftime locker room. The Scots did battle back in the 2nd half and managed to pull within 2 in the 4th quarter but that proved to be as close as they would get.
Normally a great 3-point shooting team the Scots were cold from outside hitting only 21% from long range. HP scoring was led by Michael McMonigle with 15 points and Reilly Seebold with 14. Cade Wagner added 11 to go with 8 rebounds while Prince Dorbah had 8.
The Scots dropped to 13-9 on the season and 2-2 in district.
HP is on the road Friday at Wylie East in another important district match up.
