HP Lady Scots Soccer Headed to State Tournament!

In a thrilling matchup, the HP Lady Scots defeated Frisco Independence to take the 5A region II Championship on Saturday, April 13th.  The Scots took the field in a continued downpour after a 4 hour rain delay.  The first score came off a perfect corner by Halley Ray, to Sydney Cox, who initially headed the ball to the net.  Sydney then kicked in the keeper's deflection to put the Scots up 1-0 early in the first 1/2.  Independence scored early in the second 1/2 to tie the game.  With 5 minutes left in regulation play, Presley Echols, off an assist from Cox, was able to connect in a beautiful shot for the game winning goal.  The Lady Scots showed incredible tenacity, heart and grit throughout the game, and earned their place in the State Tournament once again.
