The outcome of Saturday evening's Tom Landry Classic wasn't what Highland Park Scots fans, players or coaches were hoping for. It was extremely hot, even for a Texas pre-Labor Day night, and the score, an ugly 44-3 loss to the Aledo High School Bearcats, made the Scots' second-time loss to Aledo in two years even more disappointing.

Despite the rough end to the Scots' season-opener at Eagle Stadium in Allen, the crowd, always loyal to their Scots, still did their best to enjoy the evening, not to mention the Highlander Band, HPHS cheerleaders, Scotsmen and Highland Belles.

The HPHS Scots will face Prepa Tech hailing from Monterrey, Mexico this Friday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Highlander Stadium.
