Local non-profit Trusted World received an early holiday surprise from The Moozie Foundation, a charitable arm of The Rosewood Corporation, and the Caroline Rose Hunt family.

This holiday season, Trusted World’s CEO Michael Garrett and his colleagues put two items on their wish list that they knew could help the organization expand its reach and make a greater impact on North Texas communities. The organization requested funds to help it secure food for those in need and a new van to deliver food, clothing, and other personal items to its network of schools, police departments, and non-profits who distribute the items to local communities and families in need.

Lynn Fisher, Rosewood’s director of corporate giving, says The Moozie Foundation was excited to step up and help, but she wanted to make it extra special for Garrett with a big surprise. “Trusted World is an important resource for so many organizations that provide for families in our community and, we are proud to offer our support,” said Fisher. “The Moozie Foundation agreed to provide funding to help the organization buy food to meet the increased need for meals in the community this holiday season. But, knowing the impact a new van would have for the charity and the people it supports, we surprised Michael with a check for $40,000 to cover the cost of the food and a new delivery van.”

“Today is amazing, we were expecting one thing, and our expectations were completely blown away," said Michael Garrett, CEO, Trusted World. “The support from The Moozie Foundation is going to make a huge difference for us. We are trying to get as many resources out to the community as possible and an additional van will help us meet that goal."

Garrett founded Trusted World seven years ago in his garage with a simple mission, to help people, help other people. Today, Trusted World operates on a much larger scale and has provided relief to hundreds of thousands of North Texans in need.

The Moozie Foundation was founded to extend the caring legacy of Caroline Rose Hunt through charitable giving directed by her grandchildren and future generations. Its mission is to support community programs that help vulnerable and underserved populations.
