Parents and students will have a break from the daily routine of packing lunches when MIS/HPMS phases in food sales next week, offering sandwiches from Chick-fil-A and New York Sub.

"This new option will give the students some variety," Principal Dr. Laurie Hitzelberger said. "We wanted to do something creative to provide another option while our cafeteria expansion continues, and even though we can't do this every day due to the logistical challenges, two days a week of not having to pack a lunch should help. We want to thank our parents for their patience."

Here is the proposed schedule:

MIS

  • Tuesdays - Chick-fil-A (original chicken sandwich)
  • Thursdays - New York Sub (turkey and cheese sandwich with lettuce; vegetarian option also available)

HPMS

  • Wednesdays - Chick-fil-A (original chicken sandwich)
  • Fridays - New York Sub (turkey and cheese sandwich with lettuce; vegetarian option also available)

The sandwiches will be sold as a meal deal with a bag of chips and bottle of water for $5. Students who would like to order Chick-fil-A or New York Sub sandwiches will need to tell their advisory teachers the Thursday of each week for the following week's orders so numbers will be accurate.

In addition, MIS/HPMS will continue to offer turkey sandwiches for students who forget their lunches. They are sold with a bag of chips and bottle of water for $3.50. Students need to tell their first-period teachers by 8:30 a.m. if they have forgotten their lunch so that a sack lunch can be prepared.
