The award-winning Highland Belles drill team will kick off the first home game of the 2013 Highland Park High School football season with its annual Spaghetti Supper and auction/raffle fundraiser on Friday, September 6. A fun-filled family night is planned to rally HP spirit before the Highland Park vs. Monterrey Tech game. The Highland Belles will partner with Amore Italian Restaurant for the 18th year, and the Belles are thankful for the support of Amore owners, June and Roy Wilson, and manager, Robert Hobaugh.
This year’s theme, “The IncrediBelles,” builds on the team’s 30-year spaghetti supper tradition and is the only fundraiser for the Highland Belles. Proceeds from the event will fund many of the drill team’s essentials including bus transportation to football games, props and equipment for performances, choreography, sound systems and competition expenses.
Advance ticket sales began July 1 and will continue through September 3, so contact your favorite Belle to make a purchase or donation. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Dinner tickets are $8 each, and raffle chances are $5 each or 6 for $25.
The Highland Belle Booster Club will serve spaghetti dinners from 5 to 7 p.m. in the HPHS Cafetorium, and take-out orders will be delivered by Highland Belles to patrons’ cars from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the school parking lot behind the stadium.
The entire community is encouraged to attend the silent auction and raffle, featuring items which have been generously donated by community businesses and friends. The silent auction will feature more than 500 exciting items to bid on, including an adorable Goldendoodle puppy, autographed items from Troy Aikman, Matthew Stafford and Clayton Kershaw, a weekend stay at the Wildcatter Ranch, a “Night in the Kitchen” at Abacus and a wood-fired pizza oven! Auction items also include tickets to Rangers and Stars games, gift certificates for amazing restaurants and hotels, plenty of personal pampering services, lots of home and gift items, and fun and educational offerings for kids. There is truly something for everyone!
Raffle baskets can be previewed at www.highlandbelles.org and will have many wonderful offerings including a Byte the Apple basket which will include a 13” MacBrook Pro, iPad Mini, Beats by Dr. Dre and an Apple gift card. The other raffle baskets provide something for moms, dads, cyclists and Scots fans.
Amy Orsini, HP Belles Spaghetti Supper Co-Chair and Board Member says, “We hope to have a large community turn-out on September 6 to support the Belles. We promise great food and good fun for the whole family!”
