DALLAS, TEXAS: Council for Life’s inaugural Swing for Life Golf Tournament on Tuesday, June 22, at the Maridoe Golf Course in Carrollton was a resounding success! Rated as one of the best and toughest private golf clubs in Texas, Maridoe is North Texas’ newest championship golf facility. After pivoting to a rescheduled date due to an unusually rainy May, a sold-out group of 86 players enjoyed an exclusive day of sunshine, blue skies and ideal temps and course conditions. Plenty of fun and fellowship was part of the experience as well!

Because of the enthusiastic, generous support of Swing for Life sponsors and players, CFL exceeded its fundraising goal for the event. Top sponsors included the Stan Graff Family/Graff Chevrolet, Huffines Auto Dealership, Melissa and Mike Allen and Nicole and Tom Bohannon. Auction items included a stay at a beautiful, elegant villa in Cabo San Lucas donated by Joan and Steve Smith and Rangers Tickets donated by Superior Landscapes/Ray Harvey. Jeff White’s  donation of Chick-fil-A for a year was a huge hit.

Swing for Life concluded with a delicious dinner, presentation of player awards and a compelling talk by Pastor David Shivers of Prestonwood Baptist about the importance of standing for life. An added gift that evening was the presence of agency representatives of Council for Life’s 2021 Beneficiaries who were able to mingle and visit with participants to share about their missions and life-affirming work.

CFL looks forward to making the Swing for Life Golf Tournament an annual event!
