The Saint Michael Preschool will officially open its new playground on Sunday, October 27 with dedication ceremonies at 10 a.m.
The 1.3 acre playground, which is available to the community during non-school hours, is located on the northeast corner of the Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church campus at Douglas and Colgate. The ceremony will be in conjunction with the church’s annual “Trunk and Treat” Halloween celebration, in which parents load the trunks of their cars and SUVs with candy and other treats for the children.
“We invite children and parents from the community to join in the dedication of our new playground facility and take part in Trunk or Treat,” said Katie Riley, Director of the Saint Michael Preschool. “We want the entire community to feel welcome at our new playground.”
The facility contains state-of-the-art equipment designed for children between the ages of 2 and 5. The playground features swings, spinner bowls, a super see-saw for three children at a time, double rope monkey bars to build upper body strength, and slides and climbing ropes. The playground surface is designed to meet stringent safety standards.
“This playground is another exciting milestone for the Saint Michael Preschool,” Ms. Riley said.
The Saint Michael Preschool, accredited by the National Association of Episcopal Schools, provides children up to five years of age academic and developmental programs that prepare them for elementary school.
