There will be lots of action on the Hilltop this weekend as both current and past Southern Methodist University students celebrate their alma mater for Homecoming.

Between the Distinguished Alumni Awards, tailgating festivities on the Boulevard and of course, the big blowout Homecoming Parade, this is the most exciting time of the year for SMU Mustangs. Plus, all the campuses’ libraries and museums will be open for visitors to enjoy, including the newest addition to campus, the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

Don’t forget that traffic will be a bit jammed near campus Saturday morning, Oct. 26 for the parade, which starts at 11 a.m.

The parade starts at University Blvd. and Hillcrest, goes south on Hillcrest, east on Mockingbird and enters the campus at Bishop Blvd, the City of University Park reminds us.

Then, SMU will host Temple University at Gerald Ford Stadium for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

An earlier version of this article stated that the Homecoming Parade was beginning at 6 p.m. It starts at 11 a.m.
