Highland Park Water Polo hosts first home games on Saturday, Sept. 3. The public is welcome.

Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, and JV Boys will play five games between 9 am - 4 pm on 9/3 against Keller and Southlake at the HPHS Aquatics Center - 6900 Douglas Avenue - inside William P. Clements Jr. Leadership Center. Students and families are encouraged to attend. Varsity Girls will play at 9 am and 1:30 pm, Varsity Boys at 10:30 am and 3 pm, and JV Boys at noon.

Girls’ water polo two-for-two last weekend in Prosper last weekend against Rock Hill and Keller. High scorers were Sofia Patel, Campbell Schultz, and Kylie Williams. Angelina Huang scored her first goal during competition. Gigi Margolis was a solid goaltender and Meg Peters played steady defense. Patel and Schultz each caused numerous turnovers. Williams scored 11 of the 19 goals against Keller and was recently named Player of the Week by TXWaterpolo.com.

Boys’ water polo continued their winning streak last weekend with a record of 10-0-1. The team added two more wins at a tournament in Prosper on August 27th. The Scots defeated Hebron 11-4 and Keller 22-11. The JV boys lost one and won one. The invaluable dual-roster players contributed both offensively and defensively and included Noah Morse, Janberk San, Savva and Slava Walker, Cainan Cohen, and Zach Slaughter. Varsity player and senior Roman Duong proved his case time and again as the center of the Scots offense and was recently named Player of the Week by TXwaterpolo.com.
