University Park resident Dominique Miller has asked the city to amend an ordinance to allow her to keep several small hens in her backyard, which will be voted on during the city council's meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

According to the meeting's agenda
, Miller received a "complaint warning" from the UP animal control officer for having several small hens at her residence.

The city's current ordinance states, "Keeping fowl prohibited: A person commits an offense if he possesses, keeps, or harbors a chicken, rooster, chick, turkey, duck, duckling, pigeon, or any other fowl within the city."

Miller has provided the city with about 50 emails from Park Cities and Dallas residents in support of her request.
