I had the pleasure of eating at Company Cafe with my family on Saturday night. Located on Greenville and Richmond, I had no idea it even existed until my sister mentioned giving it a try. What a wonderful meal. I consider myself a foodie but not much of an Earth Muffin, so when I got to the restaurant and discovered the gluten-free, organic, locally-grown menu, I was a bit skeptical. I didn't pick the restaurant, but found myself QUICKLY glad to be there.

The menu is not large, but if you have the chance to go, try the salmon, the chicken risotto, the burgers and for heaven's sake, get the cauliflower mash. Absolutely delicious and completely craveable. My family of 8 (including 5 kids aged 13, 11, 11, 10 and 5) loved everything they ate. The sweet potato fries, the lemon-lime soda (not the Sprite they know - it's better than that) and the burgers were huge hits. I tried a couple of glasses of their house Cabernet called R Brand. Wonderfully smooth and left me wanting the whole bottle. Then came dessert.

We had two pieces of cake among the 8 of us. The Peanut Butter Cake and the Mystery Cake. Both were quickly gobbled down. Much like a favorite deli, the cakes are displayed within a cool air case, so you see what you're ordering before it appears on the plate in front of you. Steven, the owner, even bothered to give us a quick rundown of the options before we selected. Where else does that happen here in Dallas? It's a bit pricey (approx. $20 per head), but well worth the great food and personal service.

Needless to say, I hope Company Cafe on Greenville has a long and fruitful future. I just hope it's not cursed by the location. To anyone reading, put this on your list as a place to visit. I hate to let the secret out and risk a long line on our next visit but this is truly a restaurant that deserves success.
