The University Park City Council will be hosting a regular meeting that the public can attend at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the City Hall Council Chamber.

At the meeting, the Council will vote on whether to approve proposals for improvements to Barns Park and Williams Park. The improvements to Barns Park would include a variety of landscaping upgrades, such as new trees and a paver wall system, which would cost $65,300. The improvements to Williams Park would also include a variety of landscaping upgrades, which would cost $84,900.

In addition, the Council will vote on whether to approve an $18,000 plus expenses proposal from Dan Bradbury of Bradbury Associates to search for a new library director for the University Park Public Library. Jeff Rippell, who is the library's current director, indicated he will be retiring at the end of the year. The library will become a city department on Oct. 1, and its employees will become city employees, so the city is looking for Rippell's replacement. Bradbury said he would plan on opening recruitment for a new library director in May and close it in June.
